10 reasons to wear a belt and not sag

10 reasons to wear a belt and not sag (in no particular order)

1. Cell phone: You never leave home without it. Putting it in your back pocket could break it when you sit. Keeping it in your front pocket makes it hard to get to when you’re sitting. Putting your phone in a clip on your belt keeps it safer and easier to access.

2. Professionalism:  Very few professional jobs don’t require a professional look. While tucking your shirt in might not be a requirement, pants at the waist and a belt will not hurt the way you look.

3. Carrying a multi-tool: Think Batman. While you may not be catching bad guys, you probably do encounter moments, daily, where a knife would come in handy, or a screwdriver or a pair of pliers. Most multi-tools come with a sheath which fits on a belt leaving your pockets free for other things.

4. Carrying a gun: In America we have a right to carry a gun for self-defense. Concealed carry is a way of life. While there are many ways to carry your gun, a belt remains the most convenient. (of course this doesn’t apply until you are of legal age to get a permit)

5. You can reach your wallet: Pockets are sewn in at arm’s length. If you carry a wallet or money clip (and you should) you can reach it easier without having to bend over.

6. Pants will last longer: When your pants sag, the bottoms drag the ground or get stepped on when you walk. This wears out the ends making them look ratty and less professional.

7. You can run: Maybe you’re like me and you rarely run. But if something happens and you have to catch a paper that blows off in the wind, or run to catch a bus, or run from danger well then you’re ready if you have your pants up and a belt on.

8. Keep you warm: keeping your pants up will help keep you warm in cold weather

9. Belts are stylish: Leather belts, belts with studs, belts with bling, belts with patterns, Nato belts, military belts

10.  Stops Nagging: No one will ever look at you and say, “Bro, You’re not sagging enough”. However you will be constantly nagged by older people, parents, teachers, and employers about your pants sagging.

Secret Coffee

The Art Teacher Struggle is real. My coffee pot was in my office and so the potential for accidents involving water or coffee and paperwork or books was a source of anxiety for me. Having the coffee pot next to the sink made more sense, but I didn't want kids messing with it. So here is the solution. The hidden coffee pot. Three cheers for innovation.
